Tenant FAQs
Answers to your frequently asked questions
-
Can you reserve a property before applying?
Homes are typically leased on a first-come, first-qualified basis. To secure a rental, it’s best to submit your completed application and required fees as soon as possible. -
What is the minimum age to apply for a rental?
Applicants must be at least 18 years old or of legal age to sign a lease agreement. -
Is the security deposit refundable?
Yes. As long as the lease terms are fulfilled and there’s no damage beyond normal wear and tear, the security deposit is refundable. Deductions may be made for unpaid rent, cleaning costs, or necessary repairs. -
How can I apply for a rental I’m interested in?
At Avant Realty, we use Rentvine to simplify the rental application process. You can easily apply online through our application portal. Just complete the application form, submit the application fee, and upload your supporting documents such as a valid ID and proof of income—all in one secure location. -
What are the options for paying rent?
Rent payments are made easy with Rentvine’s tenant portal, available 24/7. Tenants can pay rent securely online using a bank transfer, debit/credit card, or other supported methods. This streamlined process helps ensure payments are on time and processed quickly. Tenants can also pay rent through money order, check, or cash. -
What should I do if I want to get a pet?
Refer to your lease agreement and reach out to property management. Some homes are pet-friendly with an added pet deposit or monthly pet rent, while others may have restrictions. -
What if I’m moving out but my roommate wants to stay?
Since all tenants are jointly responsible for the lease, management approval is typically required for changes. The remaining tenant may need to requalify on their own or propose a new roommate. -
How do I notify management if I plan to move out when my lease ends?
Written notice is usually required. Review your lease for the notice period and submit your move-out notice in writing by the specified date. -
Who handles maintenance and repair costs?
Routine repairs are managed by the property team, but tenants may be liable for issues resulting from misuse or negligence. Report any problems promptly through the designated maintenance request system.
